Our Residency Program was approved February 1998. The first resident class began in July 1998. |

The program is a three-year (EMY 1,2,3) community-based Emergency Medicine residency that accepts eight residents per year. |

We have a strong commitment to scholarly activities, including research. |
|

All residency faculty members are board certified or prepared in Emergency Medicine and the majority are Emergency Medicine Residency trained. |
Didactics
Emergency Residents spend five hours weekly attending conferences with interactive and innovative teaching techniques encouraged. These include:

Residents are provided time and funding to attend one national regional EM conference of their choice during the second and third year of training. Funding is available during the first year if desired.
In preparation for the ABEM certifying examinations, practice written exams are given every month, and oral examinations are given every other month. We also participate in the annual ABEM in-service examination.
